Description

Specially developed high strength concrete - called grout - can be injected into selected diagonal and horizontal topside and subsea steel members to prolong the lifespan of a steel jacket platform.

Scope of Work

The following activities are typically part of a complete jacket reinforcement campaign:

• Qualification and testing of grout alternatives - pump ability and mechanical properties
• Grout storage and loading
• Survey and location management
• Cleaning of grout connector area
• Drilling and grout connector installation
• Hose deployment & handling subsea onto the grout inlet connector
• Grout mixing on deck and pumping
• Hose recovery and cleaning
• Testing during grout curing

The grout strength capability studies along with the applicable platform structure reinforcement analysis are normally performed by the customer in liaison with a certification agency.
