ROV Training

Description

DeepOcean acknowledges that its employees are its most important asset and this has led to the creation of our ROV training school based at our Killingoy base in Haugesund. This base has been designed to provide training for both trainees and experienced ROV personnel. The base delivers technical training in a classroom environment. We also have an ROV simulator which allows our trainees and apprentices to undergo training to perfect their skills to be able to perform advanced ROV operations.

Our training programs are arranged as follows to allow for the difference in knowledge and disciplines:

Trainee

Our training school can accommodate up to 22 pupils at one time and will take you through an intense six month training program, which is completed with an exam which would then qualify you for the Apprentice course.

Apprentice

The personnel on this course would normally come from an electrical or mechanical background and would have spent the last two years at college. We would envisage training mainly on DeepOcean vessels in the North Sea and this course is also completed with an exam and a certificate of apprenticeship.

We also have complete and systematic training onboard the vessels in operation. The technical training onboard is provided by our senior offshore personnel.

In February 2008, 22 ROV trainees completed a two-year training period. They have now started their careers as fully qualified ROV technicians in DeepOcean.
