ROPE ACCESS TECHNIQUE

Description

A decommissioning project may also include requirement to remove steel parts above the waterline. To remove this steel to less than 5 cm protrusion may be required. A rope access technique (RAT) team will be most efficient for these matters.

Scope of Work

DeepOcean has experience in subcontracting RAT companies.

A RAT team carries out the following tasks with ease:

  • Oxy-Arc and plasma burning
  • Grinding
  • Removed steel handling
  • Special tooling rigging and positioning

They will typically enter from the cellar deck level on the platform to be dismantled. A RAT team normally consists of 3 persons, including their supervisor.
