Description

The PRS Hot Tap system is owned and developed by the Pipeline Repair System (PRS) licence pool which is operated by Statoil. The purpose is to perform Hot Tap operations on live pipelines with pre-installed Tees / flanges. Retrofitted Tees may be applicable for the system in the future.

The Hot Tap system consists of a pipeline installation frame, a Hot Tap cutting module, and the Hot Tap valve module. The system was used successfully on the Ormen Lange 30” Hot Tap Tee in the summer of 2009 installing a 16” valve.

DeepOcean is the main subcontractor to the PRS frame agreement holder Technip Norge AS and supply onshore and offshore personnel resources within the special PRS projects. We perform project management, operational planning, engineering and supply technicians of multiple disciplines for technical maintenance of the PRS equipment.
