GIS is a technology used to visualize, integrate and analyze data with a spatial context and is a wholly appropriate tool for managing survey related data to support all aspects of an offshore installation from planning / risk assessment through construction, inspection and beyond.

At DeepOcean we use GIS information to underpin our operational knowledge. Our Company GIS is built on ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and Server products, which provides a rich suite of features as well as the ability to deliver custom solutions to our clients.

DeepOcean have developed data models around industry standards for the storage and management of survey data and non-spatial information (such as videos, drawings, reports and images).

Digital video from VisualWorks is integrated with the GIS data using VisualGIS to support an integrated project environment. Year-on-year comparison of events can be visualized using GIS tools, whilst viewing the associated video for the events. This provides a useful tool for clients involved with asset management.
